Unit 9 · Project 3Final Project

Final Portfolio + Art Show Submission

Finalize your portfolio and submit selected work for the end-of-year art show.

The final portfolio is the culmination of the entire year. Select your best work from all 9 units, refine your portfolio webpage based on feedback from the practice version, write your full portfolio artist statement, and prepare your physical work for the art show. The art show submission requires work to be properly matted, labeled, and delivered according to show requirements. This is your professional debut — treat it accordingly.

Objectives

  • 1Finalize portfolio webpage with all revisions from practice version feedback
  • 2Write a 200–250 word portfolio artist statement covering your year, themes, and growth
  • 3Select 2–3 physical pieces for art show submission
  • 4Prepare physical pieces: matted, labeled, and delivered per show requirements

Materials

  • All portfolio work files
  • Mat board and cutting tools (provided)
  • Art show submission form (provided)
  • Word processor for artist statement

Tips

  • Your artist statement should cover the whole year — not just one project
  • Mat your work carefully — crooked mats undermine strong work
  • Read the art show requirements carefully and follow them exactly
  • Your portfolio webpage and physical show work should feel like they come from the same artist
