Unit 8 · Project 4Final Project
Signed Edition (3 Prints + Reflection)
Sign and number your edition and write a reflection on the complete photo-to-print process.
Sign and number your 3 best prints to create your official signed edition. Then write a reflection on the complete process — from selecting the photo through to the final prints. What did you learn? What surprised you? What would you do differently? What does the linocut version of your photo communicate that the original photo doesn't? A thoughtful reflection shows that you understand not just the technical process but the creative and conceptual dimensions of printmaking.
Objectives
- 1Sign and number all 3 prints in pencil (name, edition number, title)
- 2Write a 150–200 word reflection on the complete photo-to-print process
- 3Address: what you learned, what surprised you, what you'd change, what the print adds beyond the photo
- 4Submit signed prints + reflection together
Materials
- Your 3 printed editions
- Pencil for signing
- Word processor for reflection
Tips
- Sign in pencil below the image, not on it
- Edition number goes bottom left, title bottom center, signature bottom right
- Your reflection should be specific — avoid vague statements like 'I learned a lot'
- Compare your final print to your original photo: what changed? What was gained? What was lost?
