Digital Mood Board
Curate a mood board that captures your personal visual identity and design aesthetic.
A mood board is the starting point for almost every professional design project. Before you make anything, you gather visual references that capture the feeling, color palette, and style direction you're working toward. Your mood board should reflect YOUR visual identity — the colors, textures, imagery, and design styles that feel authentically you. Use Adobe Express, Canva, or Google Slides to assemble at least 12 images, 3 color swatches, and 2 type samples. Think about: What colors do you keep coming back to? What textures feel right? What kind of imagery speaks to you?
Objectives
- 1Collect at least 12 images that reflect your personal visual aesthetic
- 2Include 3 color swatches with hex codes that define your palette
- 3Add 2 type samples showing fonts that feel like 'you'
- 4Write a 3-sentence artist statement explaining your choices
Materials
- Adobe Express or Canva (school account)
- Google Images / Pinterest for reference gathering
- Visual journal for sketching ideas first
Tips
- Don't just pick things you like — pick things that feel connected to each other
- Look at your own photos, clothes, and room for clues about your aesthetic
- Limit yourself to 3–4 colors max — too many makes it feel scattered
- Your mood board should tell a story without words
