Unit 10 · Project 2
Gallery Exhibition
The gallery showcase is the culmination of the year — a real exhibition where your work is displayed for the school community, families, and guests. You'll be present to talk about your work, answer questions, and celebrate what you've made. This is your moment to be proud of what you've accomplished. Dress appropriately, know your pieces well enough to talk about them, and be ready to explain your process and choices to visitors.
Objectives
- 1All mounted pieces displayed in your assigned gallery space
- 2Present for the full duration of the gallery opening
- 3Able to discuss each piece: what it is, how you made it, what you learned
- 4Conduct yourself professionally as an exhibiting artist
Materials
- Your mounted pieces
- Gallery space (assigned by teacher)
- Professional or neat attire
Tips & Techniques
1Practice talking about your work out loud before the opening — it feels different than just thinking about it
2Have a 30-second description ready for each piece
3It's okay to say 'I'm still figuring that out' — honesty is more interesting than a rehearsed answer
4Thank people who come to see your work — they chose to be there
